Approvals and Permits Required for Collecting Native Seed

Before collecting seed from any native plant species, it is important to ensure that you have sought and secured appropriate approval. Conditions apply to the collection of seed or plant material from National Parks, Commonwealth lands, Aboriginal lands, State Forests or land under Federal, State or Local Government control and in most instances collectors are likely to require a permit.

To collect seed from private land, permission must be sought from the land owner or manager.
